Yellowstone
July 25

Looks like a bit of weather
I guess those clouds did mean something!

Looks like Nasty weather!
Spent most of the day waiting to see Grand geyser go off again, and getting rained on.

July 26

Today was our last day in Yellowstone. We drove to the norris Geyser basin but stopped at Grand Prismatic Spring on the way.

The colors are reflected from the giant pool of blue surrounded by the orange bacterial mats.

A steam-devil blew through. Closer up, the colors are not quite as visible as from a distance.
As the wind shifts, the colors displayed vary. Sometimes there's so much intense orange, it looks like flames.

here's mud in yer eye!
Bubbling mud pots in Norris geyser basin.

Oh joy, more geysers!
Here is Steamboat Geyser during one of it's minor eruptions.

That haze would be dragon breath.
Green Dragon Spring.

Check out that really skinny one!
A
herd of bison as we approach the exit.

Baby bison by a bigger bison.
Hey 'lil feller!

You can still jump the fence if the gate is locked.
We bid a fond farewell to Yellowstone!

July 27 & 28

Source of my first beef hangover.
Sir Scott's Oasis: home of the biggest prime rib I ever ate. Up the road from Bozeman.

Has that olde tyme feel to it.
Spent the last two days in Bozeman just checking it all out.

Still feeling a bit woozy from that.
No trip would be complete without a hearty tonsil check-up while you get a trim.

That concludes our Summer extravaganza. Thanks for looking!
