MONTANA & YELLOWSTONE
July 2005

Sacagawea 1 : Pocahontas 0
Here's a view of Sacagawea Peak from Hwy 86 north of Bozeman, our first day in Montana.

Hay on the left, Cows on the right.
More of Hwy 86. They don't call it "Big Sky Country" for nothing!

I had that guy for dinner a week later.
Real live Montana Beef!

It's an "Olde Tyme" house
Our B&B stay was delightful at the Voss Inn.

Olde Tyme People!
Back a hundred years... ah the simple life.

I hope I don't see any bears!
Once in Yellowstone, we couldn't wait to go hiking!
This is the Beaver Pond Trail from Mammoth Hot Springs.
I don't know who these people are.

Lovely foliage!
It's quite a nice hike... really. Here's a liitle stream we crossed.

It's actually an alarmingly large bug. Arrrrggghhh, It's coming right for me!
One of many fine insects we spotted along the trail. This is probably a blister beetle but not 100% sure.

Or it could be a Montana mosquito, hard to tell.
Dragonfly... we must be near the ponds now.

Dagett and Norbert were out terrorizing the other animals as usual.
This pond was created by beavers who built this dam. Well... we didn't actually see the beavers.

There's something creepy about amphibians.
We did see this frog though. Beavers would have been a bit more interesting.

Civilization at last!
Completing the whole loop trail. "I'm sure glad that bear didn't come after us!"

In the dead of night, you can hear Teddy Roosevelt snoring Instead of a mint on the pillow, you get a tinder cake!
Our "deluxe" accommodations for our stay in the TOWER-ROOSEVELT area.
